[100.03] Electronic Publishing: Past, Present, and Future Technologies

E. P. Owens (The University of Chicago Press)

The University of Chicago Press has been working closely with the American Astronomical Society on electronic publishing since 1992. In that time, there have already been considerable changes in the technologies used for conventional print publishing as well as for electronic publishing. In this talk, I will examine the technological choices available in 1992, those available today, and those like to become available in the foreseeable future as they affect the publishing program of the AAS and other scientific and scholarly publishers.
