[82.10] SyNAPS: System for Networking Astronomical Publication Services

We are developing a Java/XML based distributed electronic preprint service. The goal is to create the tools and infrastructure necessary to allow (astronomical) institutes to create and maintain individual preprint collections while presenting end-users with a single, homogeneous, integrated preprint system and notification service. The system will track preprints to their final published form, and will seamlessly integrate with the online published literature.
