[126.07] Spectra of Type I X-ray bursts from KS 1731-260

M. P. Muno, D. W. Fox, E. H. Morgan (MIT Center for Space Research)

We report on X-ray spectral and timing properties of the nine Type I X-ray bursts that have been observed from KS 1731-260 using the Proportional Counter Array on board the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer. We find that the bursts that occured when the accretion rate is high exhibit radius expansion episodes and coherent oscillations, while those that occurred when the accretion rate is low exhibit neither phenomena. We present phase-resolved spectra of the oscillations.
