We present SWAS observations of the 3P1 arrow 3P0 fine-structure emission of neutral carbon ([CI]) towards the high latitude cloud MCLD 123.5+24.9, a translucent cloud located in the Polaris Flare. Observations were made towards 10 positions along a cut from the edge of the molecular cloud towards regions bright in 12CO 2arrow1. The peak temperature of the spectral line typically is 0.3-0.5\,K for positions where [CI] emission is detected. Preliminary results of a comparison to ground based CO observations suggest that the [CI] emission is correlated with the 12CO 2arrow1 rather than the 13CO 2arrow1 emission. This is in contrast to the findings for star-forming molecular clouds, where a correlation of [CI] and low rotational transitions of 13CO is noted.
