[5.05] Radiative Shocks in Circumstellar Envelopes

C. Michaut (LPMI - CNRS), C. Stehlé, E. Huguet, J-P.J. Lafon (DASGAL - CNRS)

Strong radiative hypersonic shocks are an important phenomenon involved in processes starting mass loss in the inner layers of circumstellar envelopes of evolved stars. In such shocks the fluids are strongly out of equilibrium and radiations introduce non local features and self-consistent coupling. We will present a modelization of a collisional radiative shock in an atomic and molecular hydrogen atmosphere.
