[2.06] Detection of low-mass objects in M22 through microlensing

K. Sahu, S. Casertano, M. Livio, N. Panagia, M. Potter (STScI)

WFPC2 aboard HST was used to look for microlensing of galactic bulge stars by the stars in the globular cluster M22. About 105 galactic bulge stars were monitored through the central parts of the globular cluster M22. Observations were carried out at 44 epochs spanning about 120 days. Preliminary analysis shows detection of a few candidate microlensing events, the details of which will be presented.
