[22.01] An Overview of Laser Astrophysics: Theory

D. Arnett (Steward Observatory)

Technological advances in high energy density (HED) lasers, and in computer simulations, now pose substantive challenges to the astrophysical theorist. Examples will be given of astronomical problems whose solution has been impacted by experiments on HED lasers, and promising areas for future research will be discussed.
