[2.74] Coronal Mass Ejections - responses of the photospheric magnetic field changes?

Y. Li, J. G. Luhmann (SpacSSL, University of California, Berkeley, CA 94720), J. T. Hoeksema, X. P. Zhao (Stanford University), C. N. Arge (Space Environment Center, NOAA)

Solar coronal magnetic fields appear to undertake some reconfigurations during coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Whether the coronal field changes associated with CMEs are responses of the photospheric magnetic field changes or not is an unanswered question. In this study we use available solar magnetograms and Potential Field Source surface (PFSS) model to examine the coronal field responces to photoshperic field changes during CMEs.
