[41.16] Fine structure of NH₂ emission bands in Comet LINEAR (C/1999S4)

The high dispersion spectroscopic observations of Comet C/1999S4 (LINEAR) were carried out by the high-dispersion echelle spectrograph (HIDES) mounted on 1.9-m telescope at Okayama Astrophysical Observatory . There are many emission lines of C₂, [OI], and NH₂ in the cometary spectra. The fine structure of NH₂ emission bands of (0,9,0) and (0,10,0) are studied here. The (0,9,0) band is related to the rotational levels with odd-Ka in the ground state (0,0,0), and (0,10,0) band is related to the rotational levels with even-Ka in the ground state (0,0,0). We calculate the line intensities assuming the rotational excitation temperature of the electronic and vibrational ground state, and compare with the observation.
