[41.28] On Some Peculiarities of Evolution of Integral Brightness and Outburst Activity of Comets

V.S. Filonenko (AO KhNU), K.I. Churyumov (AO KNU)

On the basis of investigations of detailed light curves of comets a whole series of new peculiarities of evolution of integral brightness and cometary outburst activity was found. A new peculiarity of light curve of comet Halley was discovered. It is sudden changes of photometric parameter n at the same heliocentric distances, which symmetrical relative to perihelion. It was shown that this peculiarity is typical for a whole series of other comets. The influence of phase dependence of brightness on the visual light curves of comets was discovered for the first time and phase coefficients of some comets were determined. Influence of solar activity and changes of parameters of solar wind on the light curves of comets Halley, Churyumov-Gerasimenko and IRAS-Araki-Alcock was found for the first time. A new phenomenon in the outburst activity of comet Tempel 2 was discovered: brightness outbursts occured on the one same heliocentric distances during three appearances of this comet. It is shown that this phenomenon is typical for all observed comets. This is a new observational criterion for choice a real mechanism of cometary outburst activity. On the basis of study of dependencies between orbital and physical characteristics of comets had been found that the comet belong to one or another photometric cluster according to comet's age and level of solar activity during this appearance of comet. A new index of cometary outburst activity, which characterizes a power of unstationary outburst processes in comets, was proposed. A quasi-periodicity of cometary outburst activity with mean period T=6.8d ± 0.6d was found. Note that 4T\approx 27d is mean rotation period of Sun. This is a new argument of influence of solar activity on the cometary outburst activity.
