We present new X-ray observations of Circinus X-1 taken by the USA experiment on ARGOS. USA made observations of Circinus X-1 between the months of May and August 2000, including an intensive (70 ksec) study covering orbital phase 0.9 through 0.5.
We analyze the timing and spectral characteristics of Circinus X-1 throughout its 16.6 day orbit, monitoring the evolution of its low frequency QPO (3-10 Hz). We look at the possible correlations of the QPO frequency and rms power with the flux and energy spectrum of the source.
Basic research in X-ray Astronomy at the Naval Research Laboratory is supported by the Office of Naval Research. Work at SLAC was supported by Department of Energy contract DE-AC03-76SF00515.
