[28.01] The State of Radiatively Inefficient Accretion Flows

I review recent work on radiatively inefficient accretion flows. I emphasize numerical simulations, analytical work, and observational evidence which all point to the same conclusion: accretion rates in radiatively inefficient flows are much smaller than standard (Bondi/ADAF) estimates.
