[26.11] The LogN-LogS relation for the HDF-N region as observed by the Chandra X-ray Observatory

G. P. Garmire, W. N. Brandt, A. E. Hornschemeier, D. P. Schneider, P. S. Broos, L. K. Townsley (Penn State University), M. W. Bautz (MIT, Center for Space Research), D. N. Burrows, G. Chartas, E. D. Feigelson (Penn State University), R. Griffiths (Carnegie Mellon University), D. Lumb (ESTEC), J. N. Nousek (Penn State University), W. L. W. Sargent (Caltech)

The region of the Hubble Deep Field North was observed by the Chandra X-ray Observatory for a total of 227 ks. Over 200 sources were detected in this observation. The number of sources versus their intensity will be presented as well as spectral information for the sum of the sources. A comparison to the current best estimate of the Diffuse X-ray Background will be discussed.

NASA grant NAS 8-38252 (GPG PI), NASA GSRP grant NGTS5-50247 (AEH), NASA LTSA grant NAG5-8107 and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation(WNB), and NSF grant AST99-00703 (DPS).
