The high-field magnetic white dwarf EUVE J0317-855 is a fast rotating white dwarf (P=12 minutes) and it presents a complex field structure which we proposed to study with time-resolved spectroscopy of the HI Lyman line series using the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE). We observed EUVE 0317-855 with FUSE in 2000 September for a total exposure time of ~18,000 s. The data were resampled in ten separate spectra each corresponding to a separate rotation phase. We present the results of a model atmosphere analysis of the FUSE spectroscopic series and discuss the implications for the origin and evolution of this unique white dwarf.
