We present our recent CHANDRA observations of the W3 star forming region. A large number of X-ray sources are detected in the W3 core, with several sources coincident with the compact and ultracompact HII regions, continuum components A-F. We compare the properties and location of the X-ray sources detected with CHANDRA with high resolution radio continuum maps, as well with NIR data of this region.
