An intermediate-band CaH filter has been used with Kron-Cousins R and I filters at the National Undergraduate Research Observatory (NURO) and at the Ball State University Observatory to determine luminosity classes of M stars. The CaH filter/CCD combination detects much more flux than the B filter for M stars at these two sites and is more efficient in luminosity classification. The advantages of using CaH rather than broad-band color indices using U or B will be discussed. The calibration process using stars of known luminosity class will be described and compared for the two sites. Preliminary results for program stars will be summarized.
