[45.05] K-Band Observations of P Cygni with the Palomar Testbed Interferometer

E. Serabyn (JPL), M. J. Creech-Eakman (Caltech-JPL)

We present near-infrared (2.2\mum) interferometric observations of the LBV P Cygni taken with the Palomar Testbed Interferometer (PTI) during the 1999 and 2000 observing seasons. PTI's ~q100 m baseline allows high-resolution measurements in the 1-4 mas range at 2.2 \mum. In the 1999 data, P Cygni was partially resolved with PTI. Follow-up data acquired during the 2000 observing season is aimed at determining whether any structure in P Cygni can be resolved by means of earth-rotation. We report the results of these observations.
