[127.02] Preliminary results from an ISOCAM based search for brown-dwarfs in the Hyades

We report on a brown-dwarf survey at mid-infrared wavelength in the Hyades open cluster. We used ISOCAM and either the LW1 (4.5um) or the LW2 (6.75um) filter to image 24 fields near proper-motion identified, low luminosity Hyads with no known companions. We estimate a median 5-sigma flux sensitivity of about 75 micro-Jansky for the 24 fields.

We identified four targets in ISOCAM images with no visible counterparts on the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey (POSS) plates. These targets were subsequently observed at near-infrared wavelengths from UKIRT to confirm/reject ISOCAM detections and to provide near- and near-mid IR colours of the targets. In this contribution we present our results and discuss the nature of these objects.
