[10.01] Ground-Based Mid-Infrared Imaging of Class 0 Protostars

We report the first--ever ground-based detection of a Class 0 protostar at wavelengths shortward of the submillimeter bands. Using the JPL mid-infrared camera MIRLIN at the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility, we detected 7 known or candidate Class 0 sources out of 12 objects targeted. Each object was imaged at 24.5\mum as well as at some combination of 12.5, 17.9, and 20.8\mum. In addition, two apparant binary companions were discovered. Using the mid-infrared spectral slope as a diagnostic, we arrange the objects in order of relative age.
