We report a simultaneous Chandra HETGS and RXTE observation of Seyfert 1 galaxy MCG--6-30-15. The O VII and O VIII edges associated with the partially ionized warm absorber are clearly detected and measured. The apparent 9000 km/s redshift in excess of systemic observed for the O VII edge is attributed to associated absorption lines (Lyman-alpha and He-alpha series) which strongly affect the continuum at the energy of the O VII edge. Absorption and emission features are identified and measured. The broad iron line and Compton reflection continuum are clearly detected and resolved with RXTE. The narrow iron line core (seen in the Chandra data) does not contribute a significant fraction to the overall iron line flux, even when it is most prominent during certain flux state. The data favor Doppler and gravitational broadening as the interpretation for the MCG--6-30-15 iron line profile. Spectral changes between the low and high flux states are assessed. The detailed physics and geometry of the system are investigated with Cloudy models. This work was funded in part by contract SAO SV1-61010 and NASA contract NAS8-39073.
