[35.10] The Implications of X-ray Afterglows

F. Harrison (Caltech)

I will review X-ray observations of gamma-ray burst afterglows, and discuss the clues they provide in understanding the progenitor population and modeling the explosion. I will focus on the X-ray contribution to broadband afterglow lightcurve modeling as well as the interpretations of line features observed in the X-ray spectrum.
