[65.07] Plasma/hydrodynamical simulations of the Orion HII Region and PDR

We present complete simulations of the hydrodynamical flow and microphysical processes within the Orion HII region and background PDR. These include the microphysics that determine physical conditions within the gas, with photoionization and recombination determining the ionization, heating and cooling processes determining the thermal equilibrium, with the thermal and ionization effects of grains and molecules explicitly included. We self consistently include the thermal and ionization effects of the hydrodynamic flow of gas away from the PDR. The result is the prediction of the full Ultraviolet through Infrared spectrum, with resulting line profiles. This allows a direct comparison with high resolution observations, and will provide decisive tests of our understanding of the flow at the HII region/PDR interface.
