[80.02] Detecting Isolated Accreting Black Holes

The number of black holes present in the disk of the Milky Way galaxy may be as large as 108 based on detections of long timescale microlensing events. We argue that X-ray emission from about 10-1000 isolated accreting black holes should be detectable in the cores of molecular clouds with future hard X-ray telescopes, such as EXIST.
