[11.30] NASA's Planetary Astronomy and Planetary Atmospheres Programs - A Snapshot

J. J. Hillman (NASA Headquarters)

I am considering establishing two standing Review Committees with staggered two-year appointments for the Planetary Astronomy (PAST) and Planetary Atmospheres (PATM) Programs. These committees are being formed to solicit membership and Chair the annual review processes in these two program areas. Initially the PAST Review Committee will consist of 4 to 5 members, an overall chairperson and 3 to 4 Panel Chairs. This year the PAST Review consisted of 2 Panels: Small Bodies and Planets, Satellites, Rings & Dust. The PATM Review Committee will consist of 8 to 9 members, an overall chairperson and 7to 8 Panel Chairs. This year the PAST Review consisted of 7 Panels: Aeronomy, Atmospheric Structure & Particles, Comets, Dynamics & Circulation, Chemical Kinetics & Photochemistry, Spectroscopy & Other Laboratory Studies and Tenuous Atmospheres. Initial appointments will be made for 1- and 2-year terms. If you would like to volunteer please contact me.

We will describe the details of the new SSED organizational structure and readvertise vacancies that exist in our organization where you may help.
