[100.15] Galaxy Cluster, Cooling Flows, and Large-Scale Structure: Environmental Effects on Large Scales

A. L. Melott (University of Kansas)

It has been shown that there are correlations between galaxy cluster morphology, the existence of cooling flows (which may not be flows at all), and the supercluster environment surrounding them. I present a new model for their formation which is based on a combination of ideas from simulation, Chandra results, and the existence of these large-scale correlations. I suggest new tests of this idea which can be made in simulations and in the data.
