As part of the Spring 2000 campaign to discover and follow up high redshift type Ia supernovae, the SCP spectroscopically confirmed a type Ia supernova at z=0.54 two weeks before maximum light. The early discovery, at the CFHT, allowed us to obtain an extensive data set, which includes ground-based, multi-epoch infrared data from ISAAC on the ESO VLT, ground-based spectroscopic data from the VLT and Keck telescope, and high signal-to-noise optical lightcurves from HST. The exquisite S/N of this data allows us to examine this supernova in great detail. The data show that this supernova is quite normal and will allow us to place constraints on the amount of dust, be it normal or grey.
