[24.07] Star Formation in the Northern HDF

R. I. Thompson (Steward Observatory)

The star formation history of the Northern HDF is determined by combining the NICMOS observations of the total HDF with the previous WFPC2 observations. The total HDF observations were carried out as a General Observer program led by Mark Dickinson. The combination of infrared and optical data greatly enhances the accuracy of the photometric redshift calculations and allows a determination of the extinction as well as the redshift. The implications for hidden star formation sources will also be discussed.
