[62.01] Multi-Component Synthetic Spectral Analyses of Three Peculiar Dwarf Novae

L. M. Winter, E. M. Sion (Villanova Un.)

We present combined accretion disk-white dwarf photospheric analyses of three peculiar dwarf novae, the U Gem-type systems EY Cygni and CW Mon, and the candidate SU UMa-type system BZ UMa. All have archival spectra obtained during dwarf nova quiescence with the International Ultraviolet Explorer spacecraft. Both EY Cygni and BZ UMa exhibit strong N V (1238, 1242Å) emission and extremely weak C IV (1548, 1550Å) emission. Our model disk and photosphere analyses yield the surface temperatures, Teff, of the white dwarf accretors, accretion rates during quiescence, as well as the percentage flux contributions of the white dwarf and the accretion disk. These results, as well as the anomalous N/C ratio, are discussed in the context of the disk and white dwarf properties obtained for other dwarf novae during quiescence.
