We present first results of high-resolution (resolving power R ~12000) optical spectropolarimetric observations obtained with the prime-focus échelle spectrometer (PFES) of the 6-meter telescope of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The device has a capability of measuring linear polarization both in spectral lines and in continuum in stars brighter than ~ 14 mag. Measurements of different variable objects (e.g., Herbig Ae/Be stars, R CrB, post--AGB stars) and standard stars (both unpolarized and with polarization) were obtained in January 2001. A special data reduction package to process these observations has been developed. This is the initial phase of a long-term effort to extend capabilities of the 6-meter telescope into spectropolarimetry. Funding for this project was provided by the Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF, grant RP1--2264).
