[7.09] An Optical/Near-Infrared Survey of the Lockman Hole

P. Barmby, J.-S. Huang, S.P. Willner (CfA), P. Eisenhardt (JPL)

The Lockman Hole is a region of extremely low Galactic neutral hydrogen density, and as such has been a popular target for extragalactic surveys at many wavelengths. As a prelude to GTO observations of the Lockman Hole with SIRTF, we have surveyed a 0.2 square degree area to R=24 and H=19.5. Here we present some first results from the survey, including galaxy number counts, color distributions, identification of extremely red objects (EROs), and the optical/near-IR properties of X-ray sources in the field.
