[24.05] Galaxy clustering and bias in the 2dF redshift survey

Y. Xu, M. Tegmark (Univ. of Pennsylvania), A.J.S. Hamilton (Univ. of Colorado, Boulder)

The power spectrum and redshift space distortions are measured from the 2dF galaxy redshift survey using a Karhunen-Loeve eigenmode analysis, allowing model-independent constraints to be placed on P(k), galaxy velocities and bias. The power spectrum is also computed for samples subdivided by luminosity and spectral type jointly, allowing the first measurement of how bias depends on luminosity and type jointly.
