[23.05] Expanding Educational Outreach Opportunities for Graduate Students

M. L. Edwards, D. L. Ratay, D. B. Dahari, E. H. McKenzie (U. Florida)

In the Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida there is a group of graduate students committed to increasing our role as educators to the general public. Through collaboration with the Science Education Department at UF, we work to bring proven educational techniques into our various outreach programs. We present examples of our work from programs such as observatory open houses, class visitations, museum classes, and long term collaborations with local teachers.
