The BTC40 Survey is a multicolor survey using images obtained with the BTC camera on the CTIO 4-m telescope in B, V, I, & Z to search for quasars at redshifts 5 < z < 6. The survey covers 40 deg2 in B, V, & I and 36 deg2 in V, I, & Z. Limiting magnitudes (3\sigma) reach to V = 24.8 and I = 23. We used the V-I vs. I-Z two-color diagram to select high-redshift quasar candidates from objects classified as stellar in the I imaging data. Follow-up spectroscopy with the AAT and CTIO 4-m telescopes on candidates with I < 21.5 has yielded two quasars with redshifts of 4.6 and 4.8 as well as four emission-line galaxies with redshifts of z \approx 0.6.
