[1.04] Strasbourg Astronomical Observatory: Its People through its Multinational History

A. Heck (Strasbourg Astronomical Observatory)

Strasbourg Observatory is quite an interesting place for historians: several changes of nationality since its foundation in the 19th century, high-profile scientists having been based there, big projects born (Hipparcos) or installed (CDS) in its walls, and so on.

A progress report is presented on a project aiming not only at tracing back all its scientific personnel from available publications and archives on both sides of the Rhine, but also at offering detailed biographies for the major figures.
