[55.04] Color Analysis and Comparison of Nearby UV Galaxies to High Redshift UV Galaxies

S. K. Lawson, L. V. Jones (Denison University), P. Moth (University of Florida)

We compare galaxies of known Hubble Type to galaxies in the Infrared Hubble Deep Field (IRHDF) in order to test a method of morphologically classifying high-redshift galaxies. The galaxies in the IRHDF are so redshifted that their infrared light was emitted at ultraviolet wavelengths. So, for comparison, we studied several nearby galaxies at ultraviolet and blue wavelengths. We perform the same type of analysis done on the IRHDF galaxies and compare results.
