[48.04] Astronomy Education: A Museum-University Partnership

K. Coble (University of Chicago, Adler Planetarium)

I present some of the unique opportunities for conveying the results of astronomical research through partnerships between science museums and universities. I use examples from my own work in cosmology research and education, as well as other sample programs at the Adler Planetarium. Additionally, I compare and contrast this educational medium with other forums for astronomy education. Finally, I demonstrate how research and education can enhance each other synergistically when conducted as a coherent, integrated program.
