[54.01] An Overview of the Angular Momentum Evolution of Young Stars

D. M. Terndrup (Ohio State University)

I will review recent progress in the observations and theory of stellar angular momentum evolution in clusters and groups with ages up to that of the Hyades. Along the way, I will attempt to identify a few areas where we may be able to make observational breakthroughs in the near future. I will close by proposing ways to determine whether environmental effects matter in the initial angular momentum distribution in young systems.
