[58.06] The Southern Hemisphere u'g'r'i'z' Standard Star Network

J.A. Smith, C.T. Rodgers (University of Wyoming), D.L. Tucker, S. Allam (FNAL), A. Jorgensen (LANL)

The primary u'g'r'i'z' standard star network for the northern hemisphere and equatorial regions has been completed [Smith et~al. 2002 AJ in press (April issue)]. We have started on a four-year (NOAO Survey) program to extend the standard network into the southern hemisphere. We present the goals for this extension, describe the reduction software, candidate standard stars and differences from the northern hemisphere effort. We will present initial results for a few of the fields with multiple observations.

We acknowledge support from the National Science Foundation (AST-0098401) and the National Optical Astronomical Observatories.
