[28.07] Search for Hard X-Ray Sources in the Solar Corona with RHESSI

With the launch of the RHESSI spacecraft on February 5, 2002 it has become possible to image the Sun at photon energies from 3 keV to 15 MeV with high temporal, spectral and spatial resolution. Solar flares are expected to produce relatively faint and extended hard X-ray sources in the high corona above the flare region. The expected spectral, spatial and temporal characteristics of these sources depend on the models of the solar flare process. A search for such sources from limb flares using RHESSI observations has been started. Preliminary results from this search will be presented.
