[59.05] Final Improvement of HST POA FOS/BLUE Archived Data and Pipeline Processing

P. D. Bristow, A. Alexov, F. Kerber, M. R. Rosa (Space Telescope European Co-ordinating Facility)

The Instrument Physical Modeling Group at the Space Telescope European Coordinating Facility (ST-ECF) concluded the delivery of the HST Post Operational Archives (POA) Faint Object Spectrograph (FOS) calibration pipeline in 2001. We present an overview of the capabilities of STPOA; listing areas of major calibration improvements - wavelength zero point shifts, dispersion solutions, flat fields and darks. This project revealed some issues related to the preparation of data for inclusion in Virtual Observatories (VO). We emphasize the relationship of scientific data integrity and archive improvements to the concept of the VO.
