The supernova remnant (SNR) N49 in the Large Magellanic Cloud has been observed with the Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer (ACIS) on board Chandra X-Ray Observatory. The superb angular resolution of the Chandra/ACIS images resolve the point-like source, presumably the X-ray counterpart of SGR 0526-66, and the diffuse filaments and knots. The X-ray spectrum from the point-like source is consistent with the suggested identification as an Anomalous X-ray Pulsar. We present the preliminary results from the imaging/spectral analysis that reveal X-ray emission from the shocked ISM and from metal-rich ejecta.
