[8.14] Revised Orbit for the Single Line Spectroscopic Binary Theta Draconis

M. H. Slovak (LSU), T. G. Barnes (Univ. Texas, Austin)

Revised orbital elements are presented for the bright (V = 4.01) single line spectroscopic binary Theta Draconis = HD 144284 = BD+58 1608 = SAO 29765 (F8IV) using nearly eighty years of radial velocity data. The most recent measurements were obtained during calibration of the McDonald Observatory 2.1m coude radial velocity spectrometer.

Revised Orbital Elements

P = 3.0708 days

K = 26.19 ± 1.30 km/s

Gamma = -11.35 ± 0.89 km/s

e = 0.035 ± 0.050

Omega = 128.2 ± 84.5 degrees

T = JD 2443943.83 ± 0.72

asin(i)= 0.073 ± 0.004 AU
