[18.07] A Search for Quasar Magnification Bias in the DLS

Previous searches for quasar magnification bias have focused on determining the angular correlation of foreground galaxies and background quasars. The assumption is then made that these galaxy overdensities trace the total foreground mass which leads to magnification bias.

The Deep Lens Survey provides a unique opportunity to 'eliminate the middle-man' and look directly for correlations between quasars and foreground mass as traced by weak gravitational lensing. I will present a progress report on my search for evidence of magnification biasing of quasars found in the DLS.
