[41.01] Structure of Galaxy Clusters at Intermediate Redshift

We present measurements of the shape of intermediate redshift galaxy clusters drawn from the Las Campanas Distant Cluster Survey (Gonzales et al., 2001). By stacking drift-scan data of 1073 clusters and poor groups in the redshift range 0.3 \geq z \leq 1.0, we determine the mean properties of the sample, and constrain the tri-axiality and relative orientations (the so-called alignment effect) of the brightest cluster galaxy, the 2nd-order galaxies and the underlying low-surface brightness light. We examine the behavior of these properties as functions of cluster richness, and compare their evolution with redshift to hierachical simulations.
