[18.04] Tracking Celestial Explosions: The World-Wide ROTSE-III Network

I will report on the progress of establishing the ROTSE-III world-wide network of automated telescopes. I will describe the program's goals and our preliminary results in the study of Gamma-Ray Bursts and other celestial transients, including data from our Fall 2001 test run in New Mexico. Once the ROTSE-III network is up and running, I plan to integrate the ROTSE-III equipment and software into an educational tool for a freshman seminar on electronic astronomy and the night sky.
