D. A. Smith, C. Akerlof, T. McKay, E. Rykoff (University of Michigan), D. Casperson, G. Gisler, K. McGowan, W. T. Vestrand, P. Wozniak, J. Wren (Los Alamos National Laboratory), S. Marshall (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory), M. C. B. Ashley, M. A. Phillips (University of New South Wales), F. Aharonian, D. Horns, H. Voelk (Max-Planck Institut fuer Kernphysik)

I will report on the progress of establishing the ROTSE-III world-wide network of automated telescopes. I will describe the program's goals and our preliminary results in the study of Gamma-Ray Bursts and other celestial transients, including data from our Fall 2001 test run in New Mexico. Once the ROTSE-III network is up and running, I plan to integrate the ROTSE-III equipment and software into an educational tool for a freshman seminar on electronic astronomy and the night sky.
