[5.02] A Simple Method for Conversion Between the Celestial Ephemeris Origin, J2000.0, and the Equinox of Date

J. Hilton (U.S. Naval Observatory)

This paper demonstrates a simple conversion between the Celestial Ephemeris Origin (CEO), the reference frame of J2000.0, and the dynamical equinox of date. It is also shown that it is not possible to provide the parameters for the CEO and the Celestial Intermediate Pole (CIP) with respect to the International Celestial Reference Frame using either of the IAU2000 nutation series without information on the ecliptic mean ecliptic of date.
