[77.15] Experimental Studies of Formation of Molecules on Ices

G. Vidali, J. Roser, R. d'Agostino (Syracuse University), G. Manico', V. Pirronello (Universita' di Catania (Italy))

We illustrate our program of study of molecule formation on dust grain analogues in ISM conditions. We present experimental results of the role of ice morphology on the formation of hydrogen molecules. These results are then applied to models of processes in dense clouds. An addition to our apparatus to study the kinetics and roto-vibrational energy of the just formed molecules as they are ejected into the gas-phase is described.

We are grateful to NASA (through grants NAG5-6822 and NAG5-9093) and the Italian Ministry for University and Scientific Research (through grant 21043088 CNR) for financial support.
