[76.01] Final Report on the Astronomers Who Have Published Every Six Months Since 1969

A. G. Davis Philip (ISO and Union College)

Astronomy and Astrophysics Abstracts, published for the Astronomisches Rechen-Insitut by Springer Verlag, has been publishing, twice a year, the abstracts of all papers in the fields of Astronomy and Astrophysics since 1969. However with the publication of volume 73, the series has come to an end with the listing of literature published in the first half of 2000. For many years I have been keeping track of those astronomers who are listed in every volume. When I started there were over 80 astronomers on the list, men and women from over a dozen countries. At the time of the last volume there are 22 astronomers on the list, all men, from four countries (15 from the US, three from the UK and two each from Canada and Russia). The NASA Astronomical Data Center lists titles for papers from all the major astronomical and astrophysical journals, many conference proceedings and other publications. I have compared their listing with the listing in AAA. In most cases the ADC lists more items than the listing in the AAA. Since the ADC does not cover the literature in exactly the same way as the AAA and since there is no way to make six month summaries my listing ends with Volume 73.
