[5.06U] Eccentricity Evolution in Simulated Galaxy Clusters

Galaxy cluster evolution is a useful probe of large scale structure and cosmological parameters. Observational data has suggested strong eccentricity evolution in the recent past. We explore the evolution of eccentricity in simulated galaxy clusters. The results of simulations with various cosmological parameters, different included physics, and variable resolution are presented. A group-finding algorithm is presented and its weaknesses are explored. No significant evolution is found in any of the simulations and possible sources of discrepancy are discussed. The results imply either a bias in observational procedures or a lack of relevant physics in simulated clusters. Both possiblities are discussed.
