[60.05] A Ground-Based Mid-IR Imaging Survey of Embedded Young Sources in the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Core

M. Barsony (JPL and SSI), M.E. Ressler (JPL), K. Marsh (IPAC)

We present the results of a mid-infrared imaging photometry survey of ~ 165 young embedded sources in the main Rho Ophiuchi cloud core. The data were acquired at sub-arcsecond resolution with JPL's mid-infrared camera, MIRLIN, on the Palomar and Keck II telescopes, and with the University of California's LWS (Long Wavelength Spectrometer) on Keck I.

We will discuss the proportion of sources exhibiting mid-infrared excesses signalling warm inner disks. We will also discuss the fraction of binaries, their distribution in separation, and the nature of the disks of the individually resolved components.

Comparison of results presented here with previous mid-infrared studies allows assessment of the mid-infrared variability of the source sample

Finally, we will comment on the nature of the resolved emission, in the few sources where it is found .
